Post Graduate in English Literature, Bachelor of Journalism (Gold Medalist), and Accredited Public Relations professional qualification from IFPR.

He Started his career as Journalist in 1980 and later, moved on to a state Public Relations department, as Assistant Editor of a monthly magazine. He moved to a German manufacturing firm where he headed the PR department for six years, before setting up his own PR consultancy in 1987.

He had been the media advisor to the state government of Panjab, and is currently Member on the Advisory Board of Altacert Institute, NJ, USA. 

He had been the President (2004-2005), Chandigarh Management Association, and National Vice President (North) of the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI).  He has also served as Chairman of the Chandigarh Chapter of PRSI.

A Member of AMIC, Singapore, he is also a Visiting faculty/external examiner to Guru Jambeshwar University, Hisar, Deptt of Journalism and Mass Communications, Himachal Pradesh University; and Panjabi University, Patiala. 

An active Rotarian, he has been the President (2005-06) of Rotary Club of Chandigarh, and District Editor for several terms.
